It's Election Time

The federal election is well underway with both leaders campaigning hard to win the confidence of the nation. Traditional party politics has given way to more of an American Presidential race with the media focusing more on personalities than policies. So which party will be the best choice for the average Australian home owner? There are many variables to consider, including interest rates, carbon trading and it's impact on the economy, the price of utilities and sound fiscal policy.

Then you have the minor parties including The Greens, who focus mainly on the environment and social issues. There is certainly one major thing that voters need to think about and that is the simple fact that a wealthy nation has the ability to help those that reside within, a wealthy nation has the ability to look after the environment, the elderly and the disadvantaged. If the country is mismanaged and the economy takes a beating people move into survival mode, where the basic instinct is to look after yourself before helping others.

So before casting your vote, think hard about which party you would prefer to look after the economy, which party has a track record of keeping interest rates under control and which party will give you the freedom to prosper in our great nation.
